Academically adrift. College students don’t learn much because they don’t read much.

A recent study shows that most college students don’t learn very much, largely because they don’t read enough. The more they read, the more they learn. The more they study in groups, the less they learn. Reading is the probably the single most useful skill, and habit, for students to acquire in school.

  1. So the question is.. if you are a beginner at language leaning (meaning you can’t read literature in your new language yet)… what are the best things to read? I am also very much pro independent learning, but I do feel that group work can help you get a different perspective that you can’t get if you continually isolate yourself. Tomtomschinablog.com
